Homeowners' pick for appliance repair across the West

Washer Repair — Book a Visit Today

We repair washers of all major brands as an independent shop, and the fastest way to start is to call us and describe what you hear. Washers usually fail in small ways first: a shirt comes out still soapy, the drum thumps on spin, water sits in the tub overnight. Around here hard well water is often part of the story, because minerals coat valves, heaters, and pressure hoses until the machine can't read its own water level. Other common culprits are worn drain pumps, split bellows, tired shocks, cracked lid switches, and control boards that lose track of a cycle. A visit starts with questions, then a real look at the pump filter, the hoses, and the error history. When we can, we run a cycle so the fault shows itself instead of being guessed at.

The washer symptoms we hear most

  • "It won't drain, and the clothes are swimming." Blocked or failed drain pump, clogged filter, or a kinked drain hose.
  • "It walks across the laundry room on spin." Worn suspension rods or shocks, load sensing that reads unbalanced, leveling feet backed out.
  • "Water only trickles in, so cycles run forever." Inlet screens clogged with mineral, weak fill valve, pressure switch or hose fault.
  • "Something screeches the whole wash." Failing drum bearing, worn belt, or debris caught in the outer tub.
  • "Lights blink and nothing starts." Lid lock or door latch switch, interlock wiring, control board fault.

Safe things to check first

Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.

  • 1Unplug the washer for a minute, plug it back in, and try a short cycle.
  • 2Shut off both faucets and look at the inlet screens for grit and mineral scale.
  • 3Open the pump filter door at the bottom front and clear out coins, lint, and hair.
  • 4Push down on each corner of the cabinet and see if a leveling foot is off the floor.

Washer Repair — quick answers

Should I keep using a washer that leaks a little?

We'd rather you didn't. A slow leak soaks subflooring and can end up on a downstairs ceiling. Shut the water off at the faucets and run no more loads. Take a photo of where the water shows up, then call us and tell us about it.

Does hard water really damage a washer?

It shortens the life of every part that touches water. Scale narrows inlet screens, coats heating elements, and plugs the thin pressure hose the machine uses to sense level. Cleaning cycles help some. Once a valve is crusted shut, it gets replaced.

Why does my washer say the load is unbalanced every time?

Sometimes it really is unbalanced, with one heavy rug pushed to one side. More often the suspension is worn and the drum swings farther than the sensor allows. Bedding washed by itself sets it off a lot. A technician can tell worn rods from a loading habit.

How long does a typical washer repair visit take?

Most visits run under a couple of hours. Diagnosis comes first, then the repair if the part is on the van. Uncommon boards, bearings, and outer tubs may mean a return trip once the part arrives.

Is it worth repairing an older machine?

Often, yes. We tell you what failed, what else looks tired, and how that repair stacks up against the age of the machine. If a rusted tub or a whole list of failures makes replacement the smarter move, we'll say so plainly.

What should I have ready when I call?

The brand, roughly how old the machine is, and any code on the display. Note whether the trouble shows up on fill, wash, drain, or spin. Tell us where you live, too, so we can set an arrival window that holds up.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call us or fill out the form and describe what you hear, smell, or see. A noise, a leak, an error code, the smell of something burning. Small details help us load the right parts on the van before we head out.

  2. Step 2

    We come look

A technician comes to your home and tests the machine instead of guessing at it. You'll hear what failed, what the fix takes, and what we'd do if this were our own kitchen.

  3. Step 3

    Repair and check

A lot of parts ride with us, so common failures get handled on the same visit. Harder parts we order in. Then we run the appliance through a cycle and make sure the problem is actually gone.

Why homeowners call us

  • Western conditions, plainlyHard well water scales up dishwasher jets and water heater lines. Summer heat leans on refrigerator compressors. Cold garages freeze washer valves in winter. We see those patterns weekly, so we check for them before chasing something exotic.
  • Brand independentWe aren't tied to any manufacturer. That means we work on the mixed lineup most homes actually have: one brand of range, another brand of laundry, a fridge somebody bought used. Same technician, same visit.
  • Steady, not rushedRushing is how a diagnosis goes wrong. We take the time to pull the panel, test the part, and read the board. And if a repair doesn't make sense for the age of the machine, we'll say so out loud.
  • Straight schedulingYou get a real appointment window and a heads-up when the technician is on the way. Rural addresses and long mountain driveways are normal for us. Tell us about the gate or the gravel and we'll plan for it.
  • All major brands, gas & electricIndependent service on Whirlpool, LG, Samsung, GE, Maytag, Bosch, KitchenAid and the rest.
  • Straight answersSome machines aren't worth the part, and we say so before you spend anything.
