Stove & Range Repair β€” Book a Visit Today

A range takes more abuse than any other appliance in the house. Burners get boiled over. Oven doors get leaned on. Igniters wear down until they click and click and never light. Most failures land in a short list: a cracked surface element, a failed igniter, a bake element that split open, a control board that lost track of temperature, or a door hinge that won't seal heat in. Our visit starts with questions, then testing. We check power at the terminal, resistance across elements, and what the sensor is actually reporting. Gas or electric, freestanding or slide-in, we work on all major brands as an independent shop. Call us and tell us what the stove is doing.

Stove & Range Repair β€” residential stove & range being serviced

The stove & range symptoms we hear most

  • The oven never gets to temperature Weak bake element, drifting temperature sensor, or a gas valve not opening fully.
  • Burner clicks but won't light Spark igniter fouled by spillover, a wet igniter well, or a failed spark module.
  • One surface element stays dead Open coil element, burned receptacle, or a cracked radiant element under the glass.
  • Everything burns on the bottom Calibration drift, a shorted sensor, or a convection fan that stopped moving air.
  • Smells like gas near the range Loose supply fitting, worn valve stem packing, or an orifice out of adjustment.

Safe things to check first

Worth a look before you call β€” sometimes it saves you the visit.

  • 1If you smell gas, leave the house first and call the gas utility before anyone else.
  • 2Check that the breaker for the range hasn't tripped, and reset it once only.
  • 3Lift the burner caps and grates to see if a spill has clogged the igniter ports.
  • 4Set an oven thermometer on the center rack and compare it to what the display claims.

Stove & Range Repair β€” quick answers

Should a gas smell wait for a repair appointment?

No. Leave the home and call your gas utility from outside. They shut off supply and confirm the leak. Once the gas side is safe, we can handle the igniter, valve, or burner work that caused it.

Why does my oven click on and off while baking?

That cycling is normal. The element or burner turns on and off to hold a set temperature. Trouble shows up when cycles get very long, very short, or the oven overshoots the number on the display.

Can a cracked glass cooktop be repaired?

The glass surface itself is replaced, not patched. Elements and wiring underneath are separate parts. We look at whether the crack has reached a heating zone, since that changes what needs replacing and what still works.

Do you service both gas and electric ranges?

Yes, plus dual-fuel models where the cooktop burns gas and the oven runs electric. Testing differs. Gas means igniters, valves, and orifices; electric means elements, relays, and boards. We come prepared for either.

My range came with the house and I don't know the model. Is that a problem?

Not at all. The model tag usually hides behind the storage drawer, along the door frame, or on the back panel. Tell us the brand and rough age when you call us and we'll sort out the rest.

Is a self-clean cycle hard on the oven?

It runs very hot, and heat stresses door gaskets, thermal fuses, and control boards. Plenty of ovens fail right after one. Wiping spills by hand between uses puts less strain on the parts.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call us or fill out the form. Describe what you hear, smell, or see. Noise, leak, error code, smell of burning. Small details help us load the right parts on the van.

  2. Step 2

    We come look

A technician arrives at your home and tests the machine instead of guessing. You hear what failed, what it takes to fix, and what we'd do if it were our own kitchen.

  3. Step 3

    Repair and check

Many parts ride with us, so common failures get handled the same visit. Harder parts we order. Then we run the appliance through a cycle and confirm the problem is actually gone.

Questions worth asking any repair company

Ask these of anyone you let into your home β€” us included. Call and we'll answer all five before you book anything.

  • 1Ask for their license numberThen verify it with your state licensing board rather than taking it on trust.
  • 2Ask for proof of insuranceLiability cover protects you if something goes wrong in your home.
  • 3Get the quote in writingIncluding the trip fee, whether it's credited against the repair, and parts.
  • 4Ask how they handle callbacksIf the same fault returns, what happens? Get the answer before work begins.
  • 5Check their own reviewsLook the business up independently β€” their Google profile, not just what they tell you.

Why homeowners call us

  • Western conditions, plainlyHard well water scales up dishwasher jets and water heater lines. Summer heat pushes refrigerator compressors hard. Winter garages freeze washer valves. We see those patterns weekly and check for them before chasing something exotic.
  • Brand independentWe are not tied to any manufacturer. That means we work on the mixed lineup most homes actually have: one brand of range, another of laundry, a fridge someone bought used. Same technician, same visit.
  • Steady, not rushedRushing is how a diagnosis goes wrong. We take the time to pull the panel, test the part, and read the board. If a repair does not make sense for the age of the machine, we say that out loud.
  • Straight schedulingYou get a real appointment window and a heads-up when the technician is on the way. Rural addresses and long mountain driveways are normal for us. Tell us about the gate or the gravel and we'll plan for it.
  • All major brands, gas & electricWhirlpool, Samsung, LG, GE, Maytag, Bosch, KitchenAid and more β€” as an independent repair company.
  • Straight answersIf it isn't worth repairing, we'll say so β€” often on the phone.
